Sleeving

Hey guys. I was wondering if anyone has every sleeved their PSU. One reason my case is getting such bad airflow is because of all the flippin PSU wires squirming around. I like new projects and this will take me a long time because of taking the connectors off and what not. Has anyone done it before? If so, any advice for doing this project? Or what a nice looking kit is? Thanks,
Fish.

Don't understand "sleeving psu" - do you mean creatiing a jacket, or some shield to constrain the airflow?
Is this a standard PC?
Where are all these pesky wires? - do you mean inside the psu.

Strictly you shouldn't open a psu - theya re dangerous places and subject to much testing/design that "might" be upset if you play around. The risk of psu failure will be to blow the whole PC, so I guess you shouldn't do it. The only mod I've done to a PSU is to reverse the airflow (seemed a good idea), and I'm into the electronics (although not specifically switching-PSU/or computers).
Does this Bad-airflow manifest itself in overheating? Is that the issue> - What power are you taking?
What is the PSU-rating.?

Generally I'd suggest a PSU should be rated about 1/3 higher than the load it's expecting. This doesn't allow much expansion, so maybe a little more won't come amiss. Super-quiet PSU's are available - perhaps this would help sway the purchase?

Can you explaiin why "sleeving" is thought necessary...how much more airflow do you need? Increasing airflow will make very little difference to any overheatiing problem, in my opinion.
I am presuming this PSU is moderately standard...you don't say.

Do you mean ducting the air (once it's inside the PC) so the PSU can "breathe better"?
The snag is that the airflow inside the PC is helping cool the PC also..so you may make one area "better" and another "worse".....sorry. but I don't understand "sleeving"..........
Good luck.
