Need a new graphics card...

I have a computer that I would like to get Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion running on it. It has an ASRock K7VM2 motherboard (no PCIe slots), and currently a nVidia Geforce MX440 graphics card that will not run Oblivion.
So here is my question. What AGP graphic cards will work with my motherboard, and play Oblivion? I have looked at a few, but I am not sure wether the manufacturer of the card has to be the same as the manufacturer of the motherboard etc etc. Help please!

Smile hope this helps

1stly the graphic card manufacturer doesnt have 2 be anything like tha manufacturer of the motherboard 2 work any pci-e card will work in a pci-e slot same with agp cards and slots.
2ndly A GeForce 7800 would do da trick but theyr xpensive, agp graphic cards are more costly and u get a lot less performance out of ur card.
At the moment i have an agpx8 motherboard and considered byin a agpx8 graphic card but i found that it would be cheaper 2 buy a new pci-e motherboard 4 £70 and buy a GeForce 7600gt 4 £130 (the 7800 is £180 and its slower than the pci-e 7600) the main drawback with agpx8 cards is that the clock speed is decent but the memory speed is halved because of the slow graphic port. If u upgraded 2 pci-e u wouldnt have 2 upgrade ur pc motherboard wise 4 a while u can buy faster graphic cards 4 a smaler price.
------------------------------
Hope this info helps you choose a gd graphic card. (u dnt have to buy a 7600gt its up 2 u)

I recommend to keep on saving money and buy a new Rig that supports pci e,so you can upgrade it from time to time.but dont buy AGP you will regret it
a 7600 gs or 7800 GS or a 6800 gs should run oblivion if you still insist on buying AGP card.Check out the prices at www.newegg.com

Yeah save up a little bit more to upgrade the motherboard that has a pci-E and SATA capable. A lot of mobos drop in price so by the time you saved up your money you can get an older model mobo(like 6 months in the market or less) for cheap and get your self a nice videocard. At most you would spend 250-300$ the price of a nice 6800GT AGP. But you gata make sure that your mobo can handle 8xagp @2A's or something like that. Basicly know your own hardware and then start to look for the stuff you can buy.

Luckly i have had a K7 and yours like my own had set backs. Your AGP is only one 1x/4x agp slot available so you are limited to a couple cards.

http://www.elderscrolls.com/games/oblivion_faq.htm <- minimum requirements for Scrollz

ATI 700 Series (About all i found that would fit scrolls minimum requirements regarding video cards)
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...892496&CatId=0

With shiping you might spend 40-50 depending how far it will get shiped.
