sound problem

Hi i was wondering if you could help me?my sound doesnt work properly but when i get up close to the speakers i can hear the music very quietly.ive checked the volume and the sound is turned up to max.please help.system model board:IBM IBM Bus clock:100 megahertz Bios:IBM 24kt25aus 08/08/2002 soundmax integrated digital audio510 megabytes installed memory slot 'j6j1 has 256mb, slot,j6j2 has 256mb IBM830952a system serial number:KEAX62A.i hope that helps.

Hi .. Did you check out the same speakers in a diff computer .. if u dont have any try it on to ur friends computer and just check it if its a hardware issue or not and if the speaker is working fine on a diff comp then try to reinstall the audio drivers and also try to update them from help site..
