Hi Thanks for that, can I just dump the Home Hub and use a normal router or does it not work like that for BT Broadband & Home Hub ?

Yea, you can use any normal router on BT Broadband. It's the Home Hub thats locked to the BT Broadband.

I've had mixed feelings from customers saying that they don't like the Home Hub and want to use another router.

The thing I say to them is unless you want to use some of the extra features that the Home Hub has (for example Bluetooth, Print Server, FTP Server, BT Fusion, BT Vision etc.) you might aswell go for a plain router.
