Exclamation Changing my motherboard + CPU (need advice)

Greetings guys

Im changing CPU and evenntually motherboard, if necesarry
Here's some information

Computer B0AOO Amitech PC (systemmodel AWRDACPI)
Systemtype X86-based PC
CPU x86 Family 15 Model 0 Stepping 10 GenuineIntel ~1600 Mhz ~1600
BIOS-version/date Award Software International, Inc. 6.00 PG, 16-09-2002

I would like to buy a new CPU with at least 2.5 Ghz more or less. My first question goes: 1. "Do i have to change motherboard for that?". I dont know which model to choose, i really do not wish to burn down my computer, knowing the fact that i was stupid enough not to ask somebody with a brain arond hardware exchangement. I would like some suggestions.

How does this work? Someone help me please

If you provide the model of the motherboard then we would be able to tell you if that board can take a 2.5GHz CPU or not......I sure hope this is not a to scam people looking at the funky link you have at the bottom of your post.

Cheers

usually when you buy a PC it comes with motherboard manual.....if you don't have a manual then open the side panel of your PC and you should see the name and model of the motherboard written somewhere on the motherboard.

wow, this thing is so old, doesn't even have AGP 8x i suggest just get new everything to cpu to new ram

but if u want to keep it, the motherboard does support the old pentium 4 cpus, dont see em in the market nowadays.
