Graphic Card Enquiries
Hi, I'm thinking of getting a Nvidia at least 512MB graphic card but have some questions over it and would appreciate your advice on this.
1) Currently, I'm using a P4P800 motherboard, due to careless, I have threw the 'guide' book away and wasn't sure if this motherboard can support max of how much MB. Can anyone advise me on this?
2) If can support up to 512MB, which kind of graphic card should I go for? Brand:Nvidia
Hope to hear from the expert out there... Thanks !!

Sorry to tell you the bad news that your motherboard does not support PCI express graphic cards. Only AGP. I would save up and do a complete up grade if I was you.

Agp is old technology and I wouldn't waste my money buying another AGP card.

 Lies! Burn the non beliver!
Nah but seriously, it's still worth upgrading a AGP card if your a gamer and cant support PCI...i recently upgraded my ATI Radeon 700 64mb graphics card to a ATI Radeon 9250 256mb graphics card and my games run so much better, even morei can run games like Battlefield 2142 now! You cant tell me thats money wasted

icic... Now I headache now... whether to upgrade my graphic card, or to get a new pc... any advise on this? Actually, was intending to get a notebook instead for gaming purpose, but was it advisable? To get a Pentium Dual Core or an AMD? Any suggestion? What's a Nvidia GO 7300 with up to 256MB TurboCache means? (But dedicated only 128MB) Is it a good graphic card for a Notebook (for gaming purpose)? Any suggested good Nvidia graphic card?

You could allways try the transition route. Something like the Asrock 4 core dual VSTA?
http://www.asrock.com/mb/overview.as...ual-VSTA&s=775
Run a new processor, including the Intel quad core, while still using your AGP card, and even your old DDR memory.
I have one and they're an excellent buy if your on an upgrade path while still wanting to use your existing hardware, but with the option of using PCIe at a later date.

LGA 775 for Intel® Core™ 2 Extreme / Core™ 2 Duo / Pentium® XE / Pentium® D / Pentium® 4 / Celeron® D, supporting Quad Core Kentsfield processors
VIA® PT880 Ultra Chipset
Supports FSB1066/800/533MHz processors and H-T Technology
Supports Dual Channel DDRII667 (DDRII x 2 DIMM slots) and DDR400 (DDR x 2 DIMM slots)
Untied Overclocking : During Overclocking, FSB enjoys better margin due to fixed AGP/PCIE/ PCI Buses
1 x PCI Express Graphics slot
1 x AGP 8X slot
Hybrid Booster - Safe Overclocking Technology
2 x SerialATA 1.5Gb/s connectors, support RAID 0, 1, JBOD functions
HDMI_SPDIF header, providing SPDIF audio output to HDMI VGA card, allows the system to connect HDMI Digital TV/projector/LCD devices.

Supports all features in Windows® Vista™ Premium

Turbocache means it uses system memory. It's a PCIexpress feature. I don't think the go7300 will please you, to be honest.
have a look at this:
