Wireless Acess Point

If a PC has an N1 wireless card, but the wireless router is only a .g version, will the signal will be limited by the speed of the router? Basically is it pointless to get an N1 wireless card if the router is only a .g?

The signal will only run as fast as the slowest component. However the N1 card will probably be compatible with the G speed router. I would always purchase the faster hardware as you will probably upgrade your router sometime in the future.
