How much money do you have to spend? That's going to be the limiting factor.

Miz is right, you need to make up a budget, and figure out how much you can and are willing to spend.

If it's just a gaming machine, you need a good sized hdd so you can install your games, good RAM and a good Gfx card.

GFX card - 256MB upwards.
RAM - Maybe start at 1GB minimum.
HDD - 250-300GB upwards.
Maybe an intel pentium 4 processor, or even a dual core processor which would make the machine more stable

well first of all, whats your budget? pretty much need that before we can help you.

to the above poster, what are you thinking? never recommend someone a pentium 4, they are just crap lol. if your after a cheap processor AMD dual cores currently have the best bang for buck. ram is also cheap at the moment, so a 2gb kit wont set you back much. depending on your screen size, 256mb will be plenty for anything lower then a 22".
