RAM for my old computer....

Hello, I had my computer (Dell Dimension XPS T450) configured by several online Co.s and came up with:

PC100 SDRAM DIMM 168 Pin, 32 x 64, CL2, Unbuffered, Non-ECC, 3.3 Volt, Low Density (16x8) 16 chip.

Would it be possible for someone to give an opinion as to which of the 3 memories I found (below) is the better one? Or at least which is the better vendor? I chose only lower priced RAMs as my computer is 7 years old and too slow, otherwise works well but don't know how long it will last:

KAHLON Part #: KDEL786, $29 free ship:
http://www.kahlon.com/itemdetailpg.asp?itemid=29840

ALLMEMORYUPGRADES.COM (Micron?) $37+5 = $42 http://www.allmemoryupgrades.com/pc100sdram.html

UPGRADE-SOLUTION.COM, $24 +4 = $28 (used?)
http://www.upgrade-solution.com/detail.....add=yes

There's more but didn't want to overwhelm. :-) I called as to whether they're low density which was told is important but they only take messages...never respond!

Crucial's configuration was the only one to come up with PC133 instead of the PC100 I need, besides it's too expensive for my old machine - it may die soon after???

Thanks ever so much for any suggestions. Adela

go for the best price..memory is memory in my book,,also you have a old system ..$29 free shipping would be best..you memory is low density. the old memory is still very expensive nowadays. as many users still use pc100 and pc133 in the systems. go for it,, i say. dont bother going for the used memory..get new.

Thank you, Generator! I think you are so right! I agree that it's better to get a new one as one doesn't know what migth have been doen to it.

I may try both eBay and Craigslist and make sure, if Ifind the right one, that's in a sealed package.

Thanks again so very much! Adela

Hi justask, I have what 7 years ago when I bought my computer thought to be enormous memory...but today is tiny: 128MB. LOL!

My problem is that by now I know exactly what I need since I configurated my computer with several online companies, but it seems it became obsolete (like everything else these days) so it's harder to find. This is what I need:

PC100 256MB SDRAM DIMM 168 Pin, 32 x 64, CL2, Unbuffered, Non-ECC, 3.3 Volt, Low Density (16x8) 16 chip.
(My computer will not take the backwards compatible PC133).

and I'm trying to get a low priced RAM as my computer may not last long but I hear both opinions: that "it doesn't have to be a name brand" and "it's got to be a name brand"...

I'm in the process of searching eBay for, maybe, a used Crucial PC100, but it looks rather impossible, so I think I'll follow Generator's kind advice to buy one of the 3 low priced, no-brand RAMs I chose (in my initial msg here) and call it a day.

Not being well versed in technical stuff it takes me months what an expert would do in half hour... LOL!

Thanks again. Adela
