What Do You Recomend?

Hello I am in the market for a new CPU (preferably AMD) I was wondering what was the best option for a price around $150-$200 (Australian). At the moment I have a AMD athlon 3200+ 2.01 GHZ and am looking for an upgrade any suggestions?

Hi, it depends on the socket your motherboard supports. If it supports AM2 you can go up tp a AMD 6000 but if its a 939 socket the only hope is Ebay.

yes am2 go for 6000 x2 even the 6400 x2 latest if socket 939 which i would guess you have by your specs
x2 4600 or 4800 ,,4800 will be better,, 1 mb cache per cpu core.. but there quiet rare and a little bit more expensive than the am2,,and mostly on ebay.
