Question What burner should I buy?

hi

I am looking to buy a burner, what would you recommend me getting??

I will be backing up mostly dvd's but also pc games, Karaoke CD+G's

right now I have a BENQ dw1620 have had fairly good success with it up til recently it stopped reading DVD-R disks....atleast the ones I have (Maxell 8X dvd-r and Sony 1-8x dvd-r)

any recommendations are appreciated

Thanks

I've had several LG burners. I replaced one because it was old and slow. Other than that I've not had a problem with any of them and they are quite cheap.

Check with cnet, toms hardware, pcworld, etc. for uptodate info and reviews on the newest stuff.

LG surprising quality for price !

My first CD-RW was a LG and to be honest the reason I purchased it was the very low price ,always beliveing you get what you pay for I was'nt expecting much in the way of quality of sound when burning a copy of a music CD ,I als told someone that I probably would not use it that much ,how wrong I was on both points .Im should have purchased a case load of these CD-RW's with a price point of $65 ,at that time was the lowest price around on any CD burner .Now on my new PC I have a DVD+/-RW also a LG and the reveiws etc all give it 5 stars ,LG ,formely Goldstar was not known for quality electronic's ,however just like we have seen with some car makers, Hyndia comes to mind ,with new managemnent and engineering they can make a complete turn around and offer high quality hardware at great prices ! Sadly however usally as their reputation gets better ,their prices go up ! Like alot of things its a matter of right place at right time and a little luck never hurts !
