Do I Have A 32bit Or 64bit Computer?

I am quite confused (which is fairly normal for me). I have an HP Pavillion running Win XP Pro and I have always thought it was a 32bit machine.
I have just downloaded CPUZ and it says my processor is a 64bit AMD Athlon 3200+. There is a small sticker on the front of the case which says AMD Athlon 64.

Does this mean I can run 64bit progarmmes? I'm not even sure I would want to as I don't really know the difference. Can anyone give me a fairly simple explanation please?

Hey "TheFrog"

Your system is 64 bit capable but I don't think it is....you could check it out to see if it is for yourself:

right click on My computer and go to property
Here is a sample screen shot of 64 bit system (read the text on the screen shot)

Hi snowmonkey

Many thanks for your info. I did what you suggested and it showed ":Athlon 64 processor"
However it simply states "Professional" under OS (I know I'm using the 32 bit OS)

Apologies for late reply (laser treatment on eye means limited viewing on PC).
