overclocking video

I recently broke down and upgraded my old trusty GF2 mx400 to a decent but well priced PNY GeForce FX 5200 ultra. I used the reg hack to unlock the clock speeds, and think I had a glitch, or really got lucky with this card. The stock speeds (in 3D mode) are 325 (core) and 650 (memory). When I got done, I wound up with 370/720. I worry about leaving it this way, but there is not a heat problem, and no visual glitches whatsoever. I was hoping someone else has seen this before and knows if the reg hack has any bugs when using the 44.03 drivers.

Not sure about your card. I use AMD NBENCH with good results. I have the NVidia Ti4200

I think I figured it out. I went back and slowly bumped up the clock, got to 355 and 690. Still tweaking on the memory, but it took a back burner since it is now in my boys' computer. But, I think if it starts to overheat, it instantly reverts back to stock speed. Actually, I think it reverts to 2D mode which is slower while it recovers. But, at 355/690, it was good for 9 FPS over the stock clock settings (UT2003-Framerates taken using FRAPS). And still no problems.
