netbook what correct ram

090210

Wish to replace 1 GB ram (1 GB DDR2)w 2 GB ram in my Asus 1000H netbook.

This is a blind mail order purchase. Do not wish to make mistake.

Is KINGSTON DDR2 2 Go, PC2-6400, ValueRAM, Cas 6,
suitable for the Asus 1000H netbook ?
*
What precautions? Is Bios reconfig necessary for this installation?

Thanks in advance

I checked several sites, all said the same thing.

DDR2 PC2-5300 with a maximum of 2GB per slot.

Just my opinion, I would buy 5300, Kingston if at all possible. I do buy several other brands of ram but Kingston is the most flexible. Avoid Corsair, it is a complete waste of money and causes all sorts of issues with a computer that magically go away when it is removed or replaced.
Crucial is good ram, I have run across several motherboards that do not like to use it, but the ram it's self is good.

In your original post you asked "What precautions?", Well, if you buy a stick of DDR2 PC2 5300 Kingston notebook memory you should be able to install it, boot the computer and enjoy. Anything else is hit or miss unless you buy the exact same brand that is in the machine now.
