Thermaltake Black Widow hot-swap device

Hi all,

I hope someone has some advice for this one.

I have a PC (Dell, running XP) with 2 SATA 250gb drives. One drive has an error message of bad PBR and will not boot.

Ok, so I grabbed the Black widow in order to pull the data off the bad drive. When opening it up, my laptop (runs vista, not sure if that is an issue?) prompts me to format the disk but then warns me that it will erase ALL the data on the drive.

I have tried to share the drive, change permissions but it gives an error message: An error occured while trying to share E. The volume does not contain a recognized file system....mentioning about make sure it is not corrupted (but it is).

Any advice on pulling my info off the drive would be great!
Thanks in advance!

Did your OS have a password on it by any chance? Could be the reason, also if your drive is corrupt. Then it won't be readable hence Vista is wanting to format it.
