Video and Sound Capturing Advise Please

Hello,
I have an uncle who is host of a very small radio show with very little sound equipment. The station is very small and not yet fully developed in equipment. What we would like to know is, we see news clips on the internet everyday as I am sure you all do as well, we would like to be able to take just the soundbites from these video clips and possible save them as a mp3 or something that we can burn onto a CD so we can que them up to play on air. Example, the recent controversy with Nancy Pelosi.

I have checked the internet for ideas, but nothing is coming across as a real way to do this. Then, I remembered the great help at this website and thought that maybe, just maybe someone could lend us some advice to get this working for us.

I hope I have explained myself thoroughly, but if not, please feel free to email me if you have any questions. We have both Windows Vista and XP Pro if that matters.

looking for help....sound doesnt work so i went to the device manager....yellow question mark next to multimedia audio controller so i uninstalled it now what do i do
