Hard Drive upgrade advice

Hi, so I'm going to upgrade my computer to an AMD Athlon x2 6000 processor (currently have the 4600) and a GeForce 9800GTX+ (Currently have the 8600GT). I have 2GB of RAM, made up of two 1GB sticks.

Currently, my hard drive is a Samsung HD300LJ. I know very little about hard drives, and was wondering if the hard drive will bottleneck my system, and if so; what hard drive should I get to match my other hardware?

Hi, as it is a Sata drive it should be fine. I gather your M/B supports the CPU. What speed ram do you have and what is your M/B make and model?

My motherboard is an ALiveNF4G-DVI and I think my RAM is PC4200.

Ram

Ah, ok. Thanks very much.

I downloaded SIW, it says my ram is PC2 4300 and DDR2 533, so I assume DDR2 800 is faster than DDR2 533.

Since there are 4 RAM slots, would it be possible to leave the current two 1GB DDR2 533 sticks in, and then add another two 1GB DDR2 800 sticks as well?

So my computer would end up with 4GB made up of 4 sticks, two are DDR2 533 and two are DDR2 800?

Hi, it will then run at a reduced speed. For Xp 2 gig is alot so I would get the 800 x 2 gig.
Also download your M/B manual and keep it safe always handy as if you get mew memory it will have to go in the correct slots to support dual channel.
