Internal PC HDD converted to USB?

Anybody know if it is possible to convert a HDD (internal) from a PC to be accessible by a laptop, using usb conversion or any other means?

I have a drive from an old desktop that I would love to look at, but I have gone desktop free in the last few years.

I know power would probably be an issue, but I think I can use a power supply from any old PC. The interface is what I am interested in -

Of course, there is probably a plug @ Radio Shack for this very thing, for the bargain price of $100

it is not difficult dear.you have to buy a box of3.5 inches or 5.5 inches from any computer shop(sorry i m forgetting its name) 5.5 inches for cd rom and hdd, and 3.5 for only hdd. plug in the hdd, and it will be connected to USB, thats all, simple.

It's called a "hard drive enclosure", and you can get them for 3.5 inch drives (the standard desktop PC drive) and 2.5 inch drives (the laptop size drive).
