Passive PSU

I am relly tired, so I am gonna make this quick.
Have anyone seen or heard of successfully passive PSU mod, I mean besides the ones you buy for like 250$ a piece?
I tried yesterday to remove the fan, and put on extra cooling elements, but the temperature, got really high really fast, and so I chickened out of the experiment.
2. question will then be, does anybody know how warm the PSU can be?

Right now I have a 300W codegen PSU, and it gets 45C with the fan on.

from experiense in PSUs i had a 300W one too and the biggest problem with them is that they only have one hole for the fan if you can you should try cutting a hole at the bottom that way you case fans can help the matter. be careful waranty expires when you open it up you might get shock as well.

forgot to mention this : PSU fans serve dual purpose to cool PSU and to cool the inside of the case..keep that in mind

I have a athlon xp 1800+ and it gets around 55C

Also, thanks for the tip on the extra hole in th ePSU, I have now made a 82mm hole in it, but with no loss of heat.

For "Buhu" :
Operating temperature of a CPU could go a lot higher then 45 or 55 and it will still function well. See the bench mark testing for yourself:

For Intel: http://www.cpuscorecard.com/cpuprices/ip4m.htm

For AMD: http://www.cpuscorecard.com/cpuprices/aaxp.htm
