Questions concerning formatting a secondary drive

Okay, I just installed an 80gig Maxtor hard drive. I used the Maxblast cd and I have the Maxtor set up as the master drive and the factory 40gig as the slave. My questions is should I erase the old 40gig drive and use it for storage or should I keep all the info on it? There is a recovery partition that is part of the 40gig, what do I do with it? And if you recommend me erasing it, what program do I use?
Please let me know.

If the OS is on the new 80GB then use a program like Partition Magic, make the drive one big one and use it for storage. Or just format the partitions thru My COmputer (RIght CLick on the drive and select Format)

If you don't feel comfortable partitioning then just leave it. You could mess up the drive and loose all your previuos info, unless its of no importance.
