second hard drive

i have a 3 year old gateway system with 1 20 gig hard drive and only 192 mb of ram running xp home . my question is can i install a second hard drive from an older computer that is the same gig to use as virtual memory only and if so will it speed up my system? probably a stupid question but humor me and please reply

give it a try.. i'm planning on doing a 2 hdd on my comp. but since i dont have enough space i'm gonna use a removeable rack so it will be faster and easier...

go for it.. make sure you wanna set the correct jumper mode!

unless i am wrong, i dont think windows will use any other drive then the one it is installed on for virtual memory. if you have 1 gig of ram or more you can disable the vm, have known people to disable it with 512megs and have good results.

but, i would wipe and partition that drive, do a 1 gig partition at the beginning and just fill the rest with some shit
