agp or pci

another question! im looking to get a new video card, just a cheap alll around 128mb ati card! but i looked a the specs on my pc it currently has an ati rage 8mb! yeah it blows! but i wanna a agp card! and i look at the gate way site and it says my pc has an agp slot, but there are three slots that look alike and are the same size! and i wanted to know how do i tell the difference from the agp slot and the pci slot! do they all look the same or is the pci slot the same as the agp slot meaning i can put an agp card in any of the three slots or is the agp slot bigger or smaller the pci slots how can i tell? help please! lol

thanx,
kreater

An AGP slot is brown, and smaller than the WHITE PCI slots. And it is usually the closest one to the processor on the board..

So if you don't have a brown slot smaller than the white ones, then you ain't got AGP. And in this day and age. You should.

And bud, go with nVIDIA.. ATI Blows.

You could still get an ATI Video Card if that is what you wanted. Just check on Pricewatch.com or Newegg.com - PCI Cards are OK but they are a bit slower and generally you can't get the top of the line video cards for the PCI slot. When you buy/build your next computer make sure you have an AGP Slot available - it's one of the biggest reasons I build my own computers in the first place.

ati cards are ok bt have major driver issues and crash frequently, nvidia has a unified diver so if yoi bought like a geforce 3 nd got an fx5600 later there would be no issues or driver swaps
