Floppy Problems

"Hi, when I put a disk into my floopy drive I always get the message, "Disk in Drive A is not fromatted. Would you like to now?" I have tried tons of disks and they have all worked before. I have been askin about this for weeks now and still have had no luck. I even tried gettin a new floppy and then a new ribbon cable but still no luck. When I do try to go ahead and format it gives me some kind of I/O error. Then it says the disk could not be formatted. I have no more ideas. Any help would be extremely appreciated!
Billy"

This is a topic from computing.net and I have the same problem. There is no answer that solve the problem, hope someone here can solve it.

Is the drive able to boot from floppy?
Can you copy files to a disk?
Some bios's have a read only option for floppy, its a long shot but have a look.

Cool Floppy Problems

I get this same thing in XP with my LS-120 "B" floppy. I can't explain why, but I just eject the disk, put it back in, open PowerQuest "PowerDesk" and it reads the LS-120. I then reopen windows explorer and low and behold it reads the LS-120 disk. If I ever find out why, I'll post.
