Please help me, I have a trojan horse

Apparently it is called Downloader.Qdown.c . I cannot find anything that will help me to find a way to remove it. I use AVG virus scan and it detected it the first day, and gave me the option of quartining it, or leaving it. I quarantined it. Since then, (that was 5/22/04) AVG has not detected it, however I keep getting this pop up box that says that I have a trojan horse. I have a home built PC that runs on Windows XP.

you must have windows xp or ME, with avg when you remove a virus it will still detect it.
why: system restore
fix: got to start, then run, type in
msconfig
click ok and the config utility will come up. on the screen that comes up click the launch system restore button. then follow the steps to make a new restore point, you will have to name it something type in New if you cant think of anything better. after that is created and the screens are closed, go to start, then all programs, accessories, then system tools then run disk cleanup. ok it to clean up the C: drive then on the main screen click the more options tab then click cleanup under the system restore options. it will remove all but the one you just made including the one with the virus still in it. now click ok at the bottom of the screen then the problem should go away.
