Lightbulb Vaio Laptop Problem!!! BIOS VIRUS???

After installing a panda personal firewall and Kasperski AV a few days ago, it started with big problems, xp is crashing, acually the laptop just turn itself off without any warning, and there is no a blue debug screen, and after taking a hdd off and changed a memory, still or even worse now, when swith on it takes a few seconds to switch off, cannot even go to bios as it is switching off all the time, I do not know how to check for viruses ib boot-mbr-bios sector, the model I am using is pcg-v505bp, I appreciate if someone can help me resolve this problem, another thing is how to find out what is the chip for holding a password on hp omnibook 6000 as I have a spare motherboard, tried all sort of tips but this one is stored in chip which needs to be reprogrammed.
Many thanks in advance.

I would say Panda and Kaperski are conflicting with each other. Uninstall both of them and see how you go from there Mikula.

Question

I already changed the memory and HDD, and its the same problem, even worse, it start up and after a 3-4 sec. it swithes off, and finally now start to boot (nothing on the screen) and it stays like that and no sound of CPU or HDD, and cannot switch off without unpluging the AC. I am thinking of possible BIOS virus, or CMOS battery, not sure what else could be wrong. I cannot even go to bios setup anymore,I appreciate if someone can give me some tips.
Thanks in advance

I would remove the CMOS battery for 15 minutes and try again Mikula. Failing that you could always flash the BIOS but i don't know how to do that

Hi, Vidster has a good idea, but most MBs need a lot longer than 15 minutes with the batt out to reset the BIOS. Try about 2 hours to be sure. It's time built into the CMOS circuit (Capacitors) to give you plenty of time to change the battery. Good Luck, Jim
