Power Supply, MB Fried?

Ok, heres the thing. I live in Guam, where the power isnt so hot.

There are constant power surges all over the island. Bad for PC's

w/ out surge protectors. There was a power surge recent power

surge which I came to find out, fried my Power supply. The

system wouldnt power up but the standby light was on(Anyone

know why?).So I went and bought a new power supply. I

reinstalled everything and now the system powers up. No real

Boot up(Monitor displays nothing), just noise(fans etc). Before it

didnt(Till I got the new PS). All I hear when I boot up is 4 distinct

beeps. So I thought that maybe the MB was fried. So, I happen

to have a new MB on the side that I decided to hook up. I

installed everything from the old MB (Mem,prcessor etc.). Hooked

it up and the same thing happens. The 4 distinct beeps. Now

obviously one would assume that everything on the MB was fried

and I need all new stuff. But it doesnt explain to me the beeps or

Standby Power light being on. Is it possible for a power surge to

kill your Memory and processor? Maybe I just dont want to except

reality. So is anyone is familiar with the 3 distinct beeps?

Ok I found the Beep codes by looking up AWARD beep codes on google. A little too easy. I got 1 long beep and 3 short. Apparently this means my video card is bad. Just thought Id tell those who may be wondering. I havent replaced the V/C yet. But I hope it works.


1long, 2 short: Video adapter error Either video adapter is bad or is not seated properly. Also, check to ensure the monitor cable is connected properly.

Repeating: (endless loop) Memory error Check for improperly seated or missing memory.

1long, 3short: No video card or bad video RAM Reseat or replace the video card.

High frequency beeeps: while running Overheated CPU Check the CPU fan for proper operation. Check the case for proper air flow.

Repeating High/Low: CPU Either the CPU is not seated properly or the CPU is damaged. May also be due to excess heat. Check the CPU fan or BIOS settings for proper fan speed.
