What happens after you have all the drive letters (A-Z)?
And my friend wants to know is it possible to change the letter of a drive?

Good Morning,
If my information is correct,
1. Windows presently reserves Drive Letters A & B for removable disk drives [floppies]. This apparently stems from the days when there were two types/sizes of floppies. The bigger floppy [more than 5 inches] is, so far as I know, now obsolete but so far Windows has not been revised. The reference I checked states that you can assign these letters to other drives such as a CD-RW if you do not have a floppy. YOU must do that manually via the Disk Manegement Extension.
2. Right now, the letters A thru Z are it [a total of 26]!!
3. The answer to your friend is yes. There are some limitations and warnings of course, as with most anything. DO not attempt to change A if you have a Floppy and LEAVE your present internal Hard Disk assignments alone!!!
You change drive letters via the the Microsoft Manegement Console's Disk Manegement Extension. You access that by right clicking "My Computer" at the "Desktop", left clicking "Manege" on the drop down Menu, and then left clicking "Disk Manegement" on the left side. BEFORE you touch anything read the extensive "Help" information that is there. You can also access the Console from "Run" or a "Command Prompt" by using the entry "diskmgmt.msc".
