Enable USB?

I have a Hewlitt-Packard Pavillion 533w running WinXP Home and for some reason the USB has become disabled. It does not appear in the device manager. The recovery disc is on a separate partition on the hard drive. Can someone please tell me how to enable the USB controller?

I'm not sure if this is it, but try to enter the BIOS when turning on you Computer and look around for a setting called something with USB and check to see if it is disabled if so... Well flick it on to enable it...

Good luck

Did you simply try to repair it using "system restore"?
