Windows Size Problem

While working in my computer, accidently I pressed some key combination which caused my XP screent to shrink in size. A blank area is left in my monitor which Iam not able to use. TheOS Window size is already in maximum and hence Iam not able to go for anymore maximum size( with still some place left in the monitor)

Any clue to restore the Size?

Thanks,
saravi

Your description of your problem is worded a little odd. If I understand your problem correctly you need to simply drag each side of the viewable box to enlarge back to full size. Point your cursor at the edge of the viewable area until you see it change to a double sided arrow, then click (left) and drag the side of the box until it is sized to your required dimensions. You will probably need to do this with all 4 sides.

Sounds like you have done one of 2 things ...

You have adjusted the monitor settings with either the monitor controls or the Display Properties.

or

You have changed the screen resolution in Display Properties and you have now got a display resolution that your monitor can't handle.

To correct the first one use the monitor or Display Properties controls to increase the Horizontal and Vertical size and take the viewable area to the edges of the screen.

To correct the second one go into Display Properties and change your screen resolution to either 800 x 600 or 1024 x 768 etc until your display is correct

Windows Display SIZE Problem

My display resolution is already 1024 by 768. and 32 bit color scheme.

And I tried to increase the display size using the control provided in the monitor also - but in vain.

Monitor Window Size Problem

Actually to reply this, let me explain the whole scene.

Iam using TOSHIBA make 'Satellite' laptop(2002 Model). Before one month, the LCD in the laptop failed--means when we boot the system we dont get any display in the LCD..but the system is working.Still I can see very much dull display in the laptop..but it is so poor that we can hardly use it.

But because of lack of time, I hooked a Desktop monitor to my laptop and using that ever since then.

Now the particular, WINDOWS SIZE problem -- is with this monitor. It is NEC - MultiSysn XE 17

So, I would appreciate if anybody has got solution for both of these problems.

Thanksmuch.!!

Have you tried a different monitor?

The only thing you can do with the laptop is take it for repair.
