Joystick not working

Hi

i have a A7N8X-X board with a 2,6 processor. previously i had a P2 450 with a Microsoft Sidewinder Precision pro (gameport) wich worked perfectly connected to the sound board SB64 pci gameport. When i got this new machine i transfered the soundboard to this A7N8X-X motherboard and connected the joystick to it. In the Control panel, game devices menu nothing showed up, even after installing new drivers. I tried to plug it to the motherboard gameport, but still nothing happened. now i use a Sidewinder 1.0 USB and it works alright, but this joystick is quite inferior to the one i had previously and now i can't get it working. i tried to tweak some definitions in the XP setup but still no luck, and the same result with bios issues. can anyone help get this thing working???

Have you disabled the onboard soundcard?

You may be getting a conflict between the 2 midi / game ports.

Hi

Nop, because this motherboard has a built in sound system, i've removed the sound board SB64 to avoid any conflicts, wich in fact there where, making the sound terrible. after removing the SB board, and connecting to the built in system, the sopund went ok, but still no Joystick reply on the mb gameport.
