Question Need help using LCD moniter with my laptops

I don't know why, but I cant see to configure my LCD flatpanel moniters with my laptop computers.

I an running XP-Professional.

The "primary" option in the display settings is greyed out and cannot be activated for either the #1 or #2 moniters.

Could someone please help me?

I would really like to use my laptops as CPU's for my office.

The laptops are a Toshiba Satellite P25-S520 with a 17" widescreen display and a Dell Centrino with a 14 or 15" standard display.

Those options are only for using the 'TV-OUT' port to connect to a regular TV for watching DVD-video for example. If greyed out, simply means your graphics chip on laptop has no tv-out port or you must first connect to a tv to make those configuration options available for setting up. In any event, those options are not applicable to what you are trying to do. You must have a VGA output port or a DV output port on the laptop if you want to connect a separate TFT monitor. Some TFT monitors have both VGA and DV inputs, some only have VGA. If your laptop has no output connector for either, you cannot use an external monitor.
