Adaptec 2940 SCSI card
Because of a computer upgrade I needed to purchase a new SCSI card (PCI) to use my Umax scanner. Umax said that the 2940 card is on there list of approved cards. When I installed it and it did not work they said after many emails that "sometimes it does not work" and now they do not answer my request for support.
Using a Dell and XP1 Pro I can see that the card is listed as known hardware. However, when I installed Umax's software for running their scanner with XP1 (Umax Astra 1200s) and try to use the scanner I gat a message that the scanner can't be found.
However, at computer start up I get theis message, white characters on a black screen
" press Ctl A for SCSI Select (TM) utility"
"Int 13h Device not found"
"Bios not installed!"
Umax support would not address this message.
Can someone help or at least point me in the direction for help.
I have already spent more money then I intended to get this scanner to work.
