Installation problem!

Dear all,
Had a problem with my PC (P3, 600Mhz - old, I know) but it was runni9ng Windows XP. Had occassion to do a complete new install but when the process got to installing XP files (where it says it will take approx, 39 minutes to install), it just hangs!! Thought it migfht be a Hard drive problem, so chnaged the HDD and same problem. Got another XP Pro version and no go.
Any ideas what the problem may be and how to overcome it?
Have reformatted the drive and still no joy!

try going into your bios screen and load setup defaults, once installed you can load performance settings, or set it how you like it. sometimes video caching/bios caching/ and some hardware settings will cause this. and of course if you are overclocking it will definitely cause it.
