NVIDIA GeForce FX 5600 Fan

I've been having problems with my NVIDIA GeForce FX 5600 and its fan. It's been making horible grinding noises. I've cleaned it several times. I even sent my computer back to Alienware to fix it but they always ship it back saying they fixed it, but never do. (My hate towards Alienware is a whole different rant).

So I'd rather just pay the money to replace the fan instead of paying Alienware to fix it (because they wasted so much time, the warranty expired).

I found this fan but I feel it's a bit to pricey. Especially since I'm paying for blue LEDS that are going to be hidden inside the case and will only light up the top of my USB card....

So does anyone know where I can get a more reasonable fan for my card?

i had a geforce card with the loud fan, i could use my compressor and blow all the dust completely out of it and it would be quiet for a week at the most. one spec of dust and it was back to it's old tricks. i had other dislikes with the card on playing games,....then someone came by and like my computer so i sold it to them. i was running a P4 2.8 gig with a nvidia 5900 ultra. being i had some other things going i bought a sempron put it on a asus board with a (gigabyte branded) radeon 9200se 128, this system kicks my old ones @$$ and is not supposed to. before i had a 533mhz fsb, the sempron has a 400, my old video card had 256 megs of ram, this one 128 but it totally rocks and i dont have near the money in it now. so unless you have a nvidia chipset on your motherboard you may want to consider selling your card and buying a different one. i have seen really bad results from changing the cooling fans on nvidia cards, be very carefull if you do or you could end up with nothing.

I'll come right out and say I don't know a whole lot about hardware.

I've got an ASUS A7N8X Deluxe.

Getting a a new card isn't an option for me right now and I really couldn't sell it knowing the fan sucks on it. So the fan replacement is probably the way I'll have to go.

I was kind of wondering why my card didn't seem to handle graphics as well as it should. I figured 256mb would run most my games at at the best possible settings. Next time I do more research...

I know how you feel, i bought one too. i have had very good luck with nvidia in the past, but the 5900 i had was a total lemon in every respect. i am sure as with anything else, other people will love the same card i had and have great luck with it, just my opinion it is a P.O.S.
