I have an ADVENT 3213 PC it has 2 drives, the DVD drive is not reading any discs. I have tried unistalling the drive and reinstalling in case it was corrupted. I have tried updating the drivers but no new ones were available. Has anyone got any ideas before I go out and buy a new drive?

I am not an expert with PC's so please explain in easy terms if you have any advice cheers!
The only suggestion i can give you is to take it out, take it to a friends house and try to install it on his machine. If this works you know for sure that the drive is ok. If not then odds are the drives knackered and you will have to buy a new one. But try it first if you can as it could save some cash to know it works and then you can carry one trying.
