ATI Radeon 7500 Video Card

Ok, so I bought the radeon 7500 video card and tried to install it. Whenever the boot up process was about to load the windows drivers, it would either black screen on me, or slanted lines would fill the screen covering everything behind it. I already installed the latest AGP drivers for my motherboard, got the latest BIOS update, my old card is completely uninstalled, and it still happens. THe card is firmly seated in the AGP slot, so I'm stuck on what to do. I'm thinking of just getting an NVIDIA, but I dunno.
