thinkpad memory upgrade - kinda odd

just upgraded my ibm thinkpad 600 memory (viking) from 2x64 to 2x128 (pc100). would expect to see 256mb on bootup, right? it only seems to recognize 224mb. any ideas? thanks - allen

the computer has shared video, if the bios auto sets the amount of shared video ram this is normal, when you added more ram it probably gave you 32 megs of shared video.256-32=224
open display properties and check the adapter tab, it should show 32 megs.
