system failed cpu test

Is there anyone out there having the same problem as me. I have purchased a new Asus A7V8X motherboard. I'm using my older Athlon Thunderbird 850 processor for now and I get the error upon boot up that my system failed cpu test. There doesn't seem to be to much help on the subject from Asus.

All i can say is the processor is not supported because of its FSB or core voltage etc
