Flashing pixels on LCD screen, what's causing this?

I have a NEC_Mitsubishi 17" LCD monitor. About 6 months ago, i started to noticed flashing pixels on the screen. They only tend to show over certain dark colors, they never flash over bright colors on the screen. They are red in color. I'm using the DVI connection on the monitor.

Has anyone else had this issue or knows what could be causing this?

Thanks,

PF

You have dead pixels whether they are lit one colour or out. This has been a problem for lcd monitors.
I recently bought a brand new Samsung with dead pixels. Took it back and got another. Same thing - dead pixels. Took it back and bought a Philips with no dead pixels.
Samsung, being one of the top lcd brands has the worst pixel warranty and Nec's warranty is no hell either.
Lite on, Hitachi, and Philips have 0 tolerance for dead pixels. Check your Nec warranty to see if you are covered.
Everyone needs to visit this website if they are considering a LCD monitor.

Thanks for your reply but they are not dead pixels. I know what a dead pixel is and I have one on the top right of the monitor, it doesn't really bug me.

The reason I know they are not dead pixels is because they only appear on a dark color of an image. Lets say there's a dark area on a webpage, they will be flashing right on it, and if you scroll the page, the flashing pixels will follow the dark area as you scroll.

Its possible your graphics card is fried. It happened to my old desktop, and the screen did all sorts of strange things along those lines.

Lightbulb LCD

If you can try turning down the refresh rate of the monitor. This is located in the advanced settings.
