Video Card Freezing Help!

When I go to start a game such as Madden 2003 I get to the into screen then as I press to start the game it freezes and makes a sound like a dying Yeti. I have put in another video cared. Geoforce Mx/MX 400 and it works fine. But the Ati freezes. I have uninstalled it and did a fresh install and it does it. I load new drivers and test each one right up to the newest driver. I am lost for what could be wrong. I need help. Can someone fix this for me. I am running an Athlon 1.2 gig, 192mb sdram, Windows Xp.

You can try turning down hardware acceleration, turn down color to 256, and increase virtual memory. These settings can be accessed via control panel in the display and system categories. Do a search here or in google for more info on what to set your virtual memory at. I would try 384 mb for both minimum and maximum settings. And go out and buy some more ram too. I take it you are using XP - so load up on the ram - 512 is nice for games. And dont turn down acceleration till you try the other settings. Good luck.
