Restart Button

Hi,

I recently had a problem with my computer and had to restore my hard drive from a backup using Acronis TrueImage. This went OK, except that now the restart button on my computer doesn't work. The only thing I did inside the case was replace my usual slave hard drive with the hard drive I store my backup on. I certainly didn't think that I did anything to the restart button which is on the other side of the case. Please could someone suggest something I can do to get it working again?

Sounds like either your reset button is disconnected from the systemboard or the button itself has died. Open up your machine and follow the wire from the reset button and check it is still atttached to the systemboard. If it is, give it a little push to make sure its seated right and try it again. If that dosen't work, the button may be dead.

Thanks for your suggestion. I turned the connector round and it worked. I must have disconnected it by mistake and put it back in the wrong way round. For some reason it goes the opposite way to the others on the same row.
