Red face Please help: Playing DVD causes CPU usage 100%

I have a dell inspiron 1100 P4 2.4Ghz, 256 MB RAM with Windows XP pro with SP2. The computers CPU usages goes to a 100% when I play a DVD for about 30 mins or so. If I wait for 10-15 mins and play the DVD will again play good for 10-15 mins b4 making the CPU usage to 100%.

I have formatted my computer recently to eliminate the issue of spyware, virus or corrupt OS that might be causing this.

I have no clue what else might cause this issue. Please let me know if I need to provide you with more details.

Thanks in advance

Re: Please help: Playing DVD causes CPU usage 100%

Thanks for your help guys. I had opened the laptop and cleaned the fan. This seems to have fixed the problem. Seems like the CPU was getting heated up coz of the dust clogged near the fan and the heat sink... cleaning it fixed the problem

Thanks again
