SCSI harddrive problem - Need help

Using K7N2 Delta-ILSR
(SPP+MCP2-T, IEEE1394, 10/100 LAN, SATA RAID)
1 GB RAM (2x 512K), DVD-ROM, LG GSA-4120B (Dual Layer DVD burner), SB Live!, etc

Harddrive: ST173404LCV (80pin 73GB SCSI ) & 40 GB IDE/ATA

Seems like when I try to transfer files from the SCSI drive to one of the IDE/ATA drives, I get failed write errors. It transfers some, but has big latency that seems to hang a lot, which will get the write error in a short few minutes.

I don't know if this is related to settings on the harddrive itself, or some other cause of the problem?

The harddrive has several possible jumper settings, on the back and the bottom of the drive, but there are no jumpers currently on the drive, and dare not put any on them till I either know what they do, or have info of any of them needing it for my computer system.

I have noticed that at times I get errors pertaining to a device, and think the Adaptec 2940UW controller has something to do with my problems ?
At first I thought might be related to having the drive terminated, as I was using 68pin cable without terminators, and then changed to cable that has a terminator, but made no difference.
Is there such a thing as having the wrong type cable or terminator for this type of SCSI drive ?

I orignally was trying to setup the SCSI drive as C drive to bootup with but was also having 1 or 2 of the problems of someone in this website that was, or is using these same SCSI harddrives.
My previous harddrive was a 100 GB with 3 partitions, one being drive C, but it went bad, and currently running off a older 40 GB IDE/ATA drive, but in need to get this SCSI drive to work properly. Not as important to get it to boot anymore, but figuring out that problem would be very nice.

Any help with this will be greatly appreciated , and needed.
