Raid 0 Sata setup (hardware controller onboard)
Hi folks would like to get some suggestions on anything i could possibly do to increase my current raid 0 36gb western digital rapor sata performance. The reason im asking this is because the current benchmarks are nowhere where they need to be in terms of performance.
As far as I can see the 2 parts of the benchmark coming up low are Buffered read which is like 84mb/sec nowhere near 100+ which is where it should be. and the seek time is 11ms which is supposed to be less than that as 1 drive seek is meant to be 5ms id expect 2 drives to be faster.
The motherboard im using is the abit an7 with a sil3112 onboard sata hardware controller.
Ive seen somone else with same drive setup with all the benchmarks lower than mine except for the 2 sections i mentioned and the guys hd beat mine scorewise for seek time and amount of mbs/sec = 100+ on his and 5ms
Any suggestions about a setting would be nice. I have all updated sata drivers and a modified bios with the newest sata code on it. so at the mo i have no idea what to do!
Thanks in advance
