This semester in school I had a couple of classes in which I had to buy a hard drive with a removable rack to use in the various lab computers. The class in now done and I have this 80gig hard drive which I want to use for backups, music, etc. I went to Fry's and purchased an external hard disk drive case (very cool BTW

Here is the link:

This isn't exactly a problem but when I plugged it into my computer the hard drive showed up as two different letter drives F: and G: , both showing 40gigs of capacity.
Does anyone know why the external drive was split into two drives? I'm pretty sure the hard drive wasn't partitioned before and is there a way to format the drive so it reads only under one drive at the full 80 gigs? Or should I just leave it and format each of the 40 gigs separately?
Thank you!!
