Help! my screen is...

hi everyone,

i have a problem with my laptop screen here. it's a Dell inspiron. sometimes, but now most of the times, when i turned on my laptop, there was something like a filter or whatever that covered the screen and there's a vertical black bar appeared. i could see part of the normal screen but it seems like it was pushed up or something from the normal position...like the log on and start button were at the top of the screen instead of the bottom...maybe i don't successfully describe the situation here, so here's the picture of that crazy screen of mine...

i appreciate if someone knows and would tell me what's wrong with my screen....and what should i do to make it work like a normal screen....i’ve been around the net searching for that someone who can help me…I hope I find that someone here….

That pic doesn't help much. Try get a better one, I can't see the log in or start buttons anywhere there.

Hello,
I had a monitor do the very thing you described, started acting up, then more and more often. Then one day the Blue Screen of Death came for it and my monitor died. Plugged in a new monitor and it worked just fine. But I would try the graphics card drivers first, can't hurt!
