Ethernet Network trouble!

I have two computers as seen in sig and I'm trying to get them to network. They both have WinXP Pro. They both have ethernet adapters. What I do is i set it up, i have to have automatic IP addresses obtained because I have an ADSL modem also connected, but I use ipconfig to find the IPs of each.

I turn off all firewalls etc. but I cant seem to get the network working. I can ping from the amd64 to the xp and get replies, but when I try ping form the amdXP to the 64 I get no reply. I also tried connecting a laptop running 2000 to see if it could ping the amd64 but no such luck, even though the 64 could ping the laptop.

I have no idea what I can do now!

Note: This is also in the Windows XP forum, as I was not sure whether it was to do with OS or the ethernet adapters/wires.

It sounds like an IP address problem with your amd64 pc to me. Have you tried a different IP address, or renewing the IP Address?

It should go without saying all the IP addresses should be of the same range and your PC's are using the same workgroup and TCP/IP protocols.
