Bought a new Acer Notebook 2300 a month ago and am having problems installing a Microsoft Intellimouse Optical USB Mouse, whenever I plug the usb mouse into the laptop it picks up the mouse as a a usb mouse, the red light under the mouse comes on and the it says found new device "Microsoft Intellimouse Optical" and then says found new hardware and just when you think the driver has been loaded it comes up saying, Error there was an error with installing the mouse, the mouse then comes up in the Device Manager as a yellow exclamation Mark and when I try and reinstall the driver for the mouse using the driversetup.exe for the Intellimouse Optical which I downloaded from the net it kicks up the same error message, its so annoying I cant use my USB Mouse with my laptop and am thinking maybe a fresh format and reload of the os will cure the problem, any advice would be really helpful.
