Need DVD RW Help

Hey, I have had one DVD reader (SONY DVD-ROM DDU1621) for about a year now, and it has been working flawlessly. Also, I recently (3 months ago or so) bought a DVD-RW burner (SONY DVD RW DRU-720A) and it has also been giving me stellar results.

Last night, I turned on my computer to burn a CD for my friend, and it wouldn't recognize the blank CD-R in the drive, so I tried another one, and it did the same thing. I looked in Windows Explorer under "My Computer", and my 2 HDDS are there as well as "Shared Documents", "Christopher's Documents", and 3 1/2 floppy), but nothing else, no dvd drives, nothing. I tried opening up my case and unplugging the connectors and plugging them back in, but that didn't help. Eventually I worked my way to the "Add Hardware" in Control Panel, and got this screen:

Yep, those are my two drives there on the top, but how do I get the exclamation mark off the icon, and make it work again? I tried pretty much everything I could, like clicking the "Next" button and going through those steps, but it didn't help. Also, seeing that neither of the drives recognize CDs, trying the install disks doesn't yeild any gain

What are your guys' suggestions? I'd like to say a big thank you to anyone who does help or finds a cure for my woes

Hi TORN,
Have you recently changed burning software??
See if this helps :
1) Go to start, run
2) Type in : regedit then hit OK
3) Navigate to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\
{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
4) Look in right pane and find the Upper Filter and Lower Filter entries.
5) Right click on each and select Delete.
6) Close regedit and reboot
7) That should give you back your CD device.
