system is halting

Hi there..guys
I am getting strange problem...system is freezing..HALT.
i dont know what to do.
I reinstalled XP all over again but I think its not xp problem
coz some time it does not boot. and gives memory mismatch message.
I got P4 2.8 with HT
2x512 kingstone 400MHz
what should i do

well can virus halt the system at bios setting??

I'm getting kind of the same thing, my system just started recently halting.. freezening for no reason. I to have run mulit-virus scans and spyware sweep but nothing major comes you. Right now i'm at the point where I'm thinking of simplye wipeing all my harddrives and srating few.

Download and run "Memtest" to check your ram.

Update ur antivirus and then run a scan it could be gabot running too many requesta nd bring down the system.
